Broadband Microwave In basic networks SDH radio systems ensure an effective solution as a back-up system for optical networks and a cost-effective alternative for high to medium traffic capacities. For fast setup of new connections, the use of microwave radio connections is on the increase. Be this in the urban access area, or to ensure that business customers have direct network access, microwave systems are suitable for medium to small traffic capacities. The frequency range extends from around 1 GHz to 58 GHz, the transmission rate lies between 2 Mbit/s and nx155 Mbit/s and ranges vary between a few kilometers to around 100 kilometers. Because this radio spectrum cannot be expanded, it is coming under increased pressure to carry more traffic. The worldwide introduction of digital mobile communications is causing concerns of a spectrum drought on several continents. Of late, industry comments have shown that spectrum and bandwidth will become a tradable commodity in the near term, fetching high prices because of supply and demand. Point-to-point fixed microwave services cater to trunked communications of digital data from point A to point B. Too much emphasis is placed on computer speed and last mile delivery. Much of this is done without any comprehension of the vital RF links, which are the infrastructure trunking networks that join the ends. Business Benefits |
