Content Filtering
Content Filtering operates by means of blacklisting undesirable web sites. Every URL requested is checked against this blacklist and, if found to be on the blacklist, instead of fetching that page, the system returns a replacement page, informing the user what has happened.

Candidate web sites for the blacklist are identified by the manufacturer of the content filtering application via regular automated updates. They offer a range of criteria for blacklisting, including: Pornography, sites inciting illegal activity or specified non-work related interest. IT Managers retain the ability to remove sites from the blacklist, should something have been wrongly classified as unsuitable for corporate access, or to add URLs to the blacklist, should inappropriate sites that have been missed.
