React Technologies – Europe’s most adventurous IP Networking Company invites you to put the fun back into business. If you intend to make an investment in your IP Infrastructure, why not partner with React and get more than just great service and support. |
Spend over one hundred thousand pounds with React Technologies between Sept 2008 and February 2009, including a minimum of ten thousand on service and we’ll reserve a space for you on our Mongol Rally. The Rally is scheduled to run over a three week period in August 2009.
The starting point for this adventure is the prestigious Bryanston School, in Blandford Forum, Dorset. From Blandford, your mission is to journey over 5000 miles east, in the hope of reaching the finish line at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. There will be three waypoints on route – Kiev, Volgograd and then onto the silk road at Taskent, before heading to the finish line at Ulaanbaatar. Beyond the waypoints, it’s up to you to plan your route.
You will be entirely responsible for yourself and the vehicle. When something goes wrong or you get yourself into difficulty, you’ll have to get yourself out of it - there is absolutely no support or back-up once you hit the road.
|
You’ll need one of these… so as a thank you, we’ll provide it. You’ll be given a car costing less than £500.00 with an engine size smaller than 1000cc. The vehicles will be less than ten years old and where possible left hand drive. Once the adventure is over, all cars that have made it to the finish line will be auctioned off in partnership with the Rotary Club of Mongolia.
You will have four months to prepare the vehicle within a maximum budget of £100.00, (which we will provide). Special bonus prizes will be awarded to the most amusing vehicle.

This will depend on your mechanical know-how and how many spares you carry. There could become a point when the vehicle is beyond repair, in which case you’ll need to know who your friends are… as you’ll want a lift with them.
As we will not be providing any support infrastructure once you are on the road, we suggest you travel between waypoints in groups of two or three vehicles, in order to assist each other when (not if) you get into trouble.
You will be responsible for all road tolls and bribes. It is very unlikely that you will get to Mongolia without being asked to oil the palms of an army of minor beurocrats and officials.
You could always sleep in your car, although it might be somewhat cramped. Alternatively you might like to take a tent, or sleep in any variety of Hotels, Guest Houses or Hostels… you’re paying for it, so it’s your choice.
If you make it to finishing line within the specified time limit, then we will cover the cost of your return flights. However if you’re late or don’t make it at all, you’ll have to return under your own steam. We understand freight class with the Trans Siberian railway doesn’t cost too much! |
This is the expensive and complex part of the adventure; React Technologies will arrange all of the paperwork and visas for two people per vehicle. Each team must provide driver and co driver details before Feb 1st 2009, along with your chosen route through pre designated countries. If there are changes to these details after this date, you will be expected to arrange for correct Visas and permits at your own expense.
These adventures are genuinely dangerous things to do. This document is written in a light-hearted fashion but you cannot underestimate the risks involved in undertaking this kind of adventure. On similar adventures, some participants have been seriously injured and killed. These adventures are not a glorified holiday. They are an adventure and so by their very nature- high risk. If it all goes wrong, you really are on your own. Anyone sensible would advise you to stay at home and arrange your socks in colour order.
We are experts in: Campus LAN Switching, Firewalls, Routing, VoIP, Fixed Mobile Convergence, Network Behaviour Analysis, Wireless Networking, Network Access Control, Broadband over Power, IPTV, CCTV and a lot more… so call us, and let the adventure begin! |
